West Hampstead's most impressive catch has to be The Wet Fish Cafe. A friendly local that focuses on wild-caught British fish (and always includes a great meat and plant-based option too), this eatery focuses on exceptional quality.
An establishment that revolves around community, the Wet Fish is so much more than a restaurant. This lively, European-style bistro is the proud host of serious live-music evenings and uses its walls to showcase some impressive art. This is modern elegance with warmth and personality.
The dinner menu depends on what the day brings. Get off to a swimming start with a mound of mussels in a creamy white wine sauce or some fish cakes with a hint of coriander and chilli. Alternatively, opt for an entree of crispy halloumi with mango, rocket and almond pesto.
For mains, the daily catch takes centre stage. Served with spiced lentils and a wild garlic sauce, or a leek risotto and kale pesto. An exciting plant-based option is always on the menu. The seafood pasta is delightfully decadent and if you want to abandon seafood altogether, their fillet steak is a meaty feast with creamy fondant potatoes - perfect with stilton-hazelnut sauce. And with artisan wines lining up the cellar, the perfect glass is on the sparkling blue horizon.
