Housed in a former 1930s fishmonger, The Wet Fish Cafe wears its story on the walls, where original Art Deco tiles shimmer with character. A beloved fixture of West Hampstead in North West London, it blends neighbourhood warmth with a touch of old-world glamour. History is not a theme here but a setting, shaping a cafe that feels both lived-in and quietly special.

In the kitchen, fresh fish and seafood-inspired cooking takes centre stage, joined by comforting brunch favourites. The approach is confident but unfussy: bright, sea-breezy flavours, clean lines, and plates that celebrate good produce without overstatement. It is modern comfort food with a certain polish, the kind that invites lingering conversations and second helpings.

The room hums with a vibrant energy, especially during intimate music dinners when exceptional artists turn supper into a shared performance. Set against those lustrous Art Deco tiles, the atmosphere strikes a balance between convivial and refined, a little slice of cafe culture with an unmistakable sense of place.

Drop anchor in West Hampstead and let The Wet Fish Cafe do what it does best. Book a table, settle beneath the tiles, and prepare to be thoroughly, deliciously hooked.
