Filling bellies all over London with hot, comforting ramen, Tonkotsu is open in East London, Haggerston.

Bright and informal, Tokotsu East encourages communal eating with their long tables and a lengthy bar under the railway arches. The exposed piping in the ceiling gives it enough urban edge without being grungy and its simple yet tasteful décor keeps it classic and understated.

There’s ramen for days! Choose from six types of ramen, like their signature tonkotsu ramen or their vegan chilli tofu ramen. Then customise it to your taste with an array of add-ons like a seasoned egg, kimchi or pork belly. And if you don’t think that’ll fill you up, have a few pieces of gyoza on standby.

Accompany your Japanese feast with a bottle of the good stuff. Their wine list is short but carefully considered, but if you want the true authentic experience, get some Sake in! Alternatively, keep it cool with a Kirin beer or a cocktail.
