Theatreland Afternoon Tea at the Waldorf in Covent Garden, celebrates time-honoured favourites through a contemporary lens. Its cooking leans into nostalgia and refinement, favouring clear flavours, crisp textures and a touch of theatre. Each plate feels familiar yet newly polished.

Waldorf Cup recasts a classic as a delicate bite: crisp apple, celery, grapes and walnuts bound in creamy dressing and tucked into a crisp cup. Coronation Chicken - A Royal Classic pairs gently spiced chicken with charcoal bread, a striking counterpoint that frames the dish’s poised comforts.

For dessert, Red Velvet Curtains draws the eye with a red velvet glaze before yielding to chocolate sponge and a vanilla cream cheese centre. Mirror, Mirror revels in dark chocolate sheen, blackberry and cep marquise, layering fruit and woodland notes for an elegant, unexpected finish.

Set within the city’s energetic heart, this is a table for unhurried conversation and a palate keen on playful twists. Book a table, savour the storytelling, and let the classics take a bow.
