Vittoria on the Walk is a beloved beacon of Italian warmth in lively Leith, where the Crolla family has been welcoming Edinburgh to their table for nearly 50 years. The mood is bustling and convivial, with a hum of conversation, the clink of glasses and a gracious team who make hospitality feel effortless. It is the sort of room where regulars are known by name and first-timers are quickly made to feel like old friends.

In the kitchen, seasoned chefs let quality ingredients do the talking. A leisurely start might mean pane della casa or the fragrant Focaccia Pinsa Romana, before sharing the Grand Antipasto Vittoria or sinking a fork into Polpette Di Manzo. Handmade comforts follow: the house Tagilatelle Vittoria layers bolognese, tomato and a whisper of cream, while the herb-bright Risotto Verde tastes like a stroll through an Italian garden. From the grill and fryer come hearty secondi, whether Bistecca Alla Griglia or crisp Pollo Alla Milanese, with rustic sides such as patate al forno. Pizza traditionalists and heat-seekers alike will find joy, from Margherita to Diavola, and puds close the circle with tiramisu or feather-light millefoglie.

A true neighbourhood favourite that still feels fresh, this is Leith’s Italian heartbeat. Book a table, bring an appetite, and walk this way to la dolce vita.
