The Copper Clam nestles within Brighton’s historic seafront arches, a family-run haven where every table faces the waves and the weathered grace of the West Pier.

Just steps from The Lanes, The Brighton Centre and the Brighton i360, it pairs postcard views with a warm, quietly confident hospitality that feels immediately at home.

In the kitchen, the team cooks to the rhythm of the tide, with much of the catch landed fresh each day. Native lobster is the house pride whether it's Thermidor or served on a roll, while oysters arrive dressed in a multitude of ways for a touch of briny theatre from miso with crispy seaweed to classic mignonette with a lemon wedge.

Small plates wander with flair from Asian fusion and Mediterranean to locally sourced classic British, while there is easy comfort in moules marinières, crab-loaded fries and abundant seafood sharing platters. For land-lovers, Sussex steaks bring satisfying depth whether it's the ribeye or the fillet.

Whether tucked beneath the beautifully restored arches or dining al fresco just metres from the shore, this is Brighton on a plate: fresh, generous and full of coastal character.

Secure a sea-facing spot and let the shoreline do the seasoning. Go on, make waves.
