On Brighton’s seafront, Pinello brings the sunlit ease of the Mediterranean to the Sussex shore. Family-owned for over forty years, it champions locally sourced, sustainable fish, shellfish and meats, cooking with conscience and care.

The setting sweeps across the beach to the iconic West Pier ruins, offering a scene that is both breezy and romantic. The building hums with cinematic history - once the Pandora Gallery and later Victoria Hall, it hosted in 1896 the Parisian brothers August and Louis Lumiere, marking Britain’s first public film exhibition outside London. A British Film Institute plaque now honours this milestone, so diners savour their meal where Brighton’s love affair with the moving image began.

Flavours roam from shoreline to trattoria in the kitchen. Moules mariniere and pan-fried king prawns arrive in garlic, chilli and tomato, while seared seabass with capers sits alongside a deftly crisp cod and chips. Classic pizzas emerge from the oven, from margherita to a fiery diavola, and comforting pastas range from linguine arrabbiata to the house’s linguine alla Pinello. Risotto alla pescatora and well-charred steaks reward unhurried appetites.

Desserts complete the experience with tiramisu and crème brûlée, paired with easy company and the rhythmic backdrop of the pier.

Settle in, savour the view, and let Pinello’s coastal storytelling do the rest - book a table and roll the credits in style!
