On Preston Street in Brighton, My Turkish Delight Kebab House channels the bustle of Istanbul in a cosy, authentic setting.

Charcoal smoke curls from the grill, carrying promises of spice and warmth. Here, the Mediterranean feels immediate, generous and refreshingly down to earth.

The menu speaks in broad, beloved strokes: charcoal-grilled kebabs with a lick of smoke. All shawarma is slow-cooked in rotisserie until tender from chicken to lamb. While diced lamb is skewered and roasted beautifully until tender with onions and green peppers for brightness.

Mezes are freshly made to either wake or cleanse the palate whether it's babaganoush made with roasted aubergine or the bright, zesty nature of haydari. Hot mezes offer crispy bites we know and love like melty mozzarella sticks and fiery jalapeno cream cheese. Flavours are smoky, spiced and vibrant, the sort that linger long after the last bite.

Value is part of the charm here, with generous portions and affordable pricing set against an inviting, unpretentious mood. It suits a casual catch-up as easily as a comforting solo supper, always steering the focus back to flavour.
