Coconuts have started falling on innocent passers-by in Birmingham, all thanks to The Coconut Tree. Specialising in Sri Lankan street food, it's an experience like no other. Bring your helmet!
Like their street-food, their dining area is warm, informal and fun, with great music, epic street art and a penny bar adding to the cool vibes. Unlike a busy street-stall, it's wonderfully spacious, making it perfect for groups and families to let their hair down.
Guaranteed you will leave this restaurant having tried something new! For something warm and comforting, go for the chicken curry or Jaffna goat curry with potato. Go off-road with the black beef that is slow-cooked in a roasted black spice mix (how mysterious!) for mindblowing flavour or a hot battered spicy cuttlefish. Vegetarians are well looked after with the coconut sambal, cheesy Colombo, jack fruit and fried okra, all of which go nicely with a side of Sri Lankan fried rice or traditional roti.
Famed for their cocotails (no that's not a typo!), expect your delicious concoction in a fun-loving elephant cup or if you're lucky, it might be on fire! Keep your helmets on for this one.
