A Greek God amongst mere mortal pubs.

Located a short stroll from Birmingham New Street, Bacchus Bar provides a feast for the senses, with quirky original features and the smell of great British grub and real ales wafting through every crevice.

The menu is gloriously home-style, with British favourites galore. Toad in the hole, with outdoor-bred pork sausages and balsamic caramelised onion gravy is a soul-warmer sent from the heavens, whilst the ocean fish and chips with hand-battered haddock and Whitby scampi will transport you to the blustery but beautiful North-East coast in an instant.

To drink, you can expect to sample all your favourite pub classics, including Nicholson’s own pale ale, as well as a broad wine selection and spirits.

Reviews

We arrived a little earlier than booked but asked about table availability - no problem.
Waitress was attentive and charming, giving us valuable advice about portion sizes. There was a large party of people who arrived just after us, but the waitress managed to juggle serving us all very efficiently.
We shared an ample calamari starter, which could possibly have benefitted from an accompanying dip or mayonnaise. Nevertheless very tasty. The mains of sea bass and belly pork with scallops were both very enjoyable.
We would return and recommend!
