Price Point: Mains from £10-£30

From a Borough Market company to a full-blown restaurant, Crispin has an interesting story to tell.

Located on Crispin Street in Spitalfields, look out for a mini version of the shard and you have arrived. With an eye-catching roof (it’s better than it sounds,) Crispin is dynamic both inside and out. Its predominantly light-wood interior complete with hanging plants gives it some serious bohemian vibes.

Focusing on delivering sublime small plates, the menu is concise but abundant in flavour. Maybe you want to choose your food depending on what you’re drinking...? Either way, their wagyu cross rump and mushroom tartine are perfect light bites. If you can’t choose, order the whole menu (yes seriously!)

Pair your small plates with a gorgeous bottle of wine; they are experts in this department! Alternatively, go for one of their specialist cocktails which you certainly won’t find anywhere else. Saffron Honey Manhattan? That’s got your taste buds tingling.

Fantastic meal at Crispin last week- the restaurant is tucked away so you wouldn't necessarily walk past it which makes it an excellent First Table candidate. Inside the vibe is great, good lighting and ambiance. Service was good and all of the waiting staff seemed really clued up on the menu and wine list which is always good to see. We went for the "one of everything" option but subbed out the celeriac croquettes for charcuterie (which was no bother for them at all and they happily accommodated). Every dish was well balanced and very tasty - the star was probably the hake and butterbean dish. Will definitely go back and also want to try the brunch which looks great!

This place is excellent tucked away by Spitalfields.

The food was exceptional and we split the dishes between 3 and everyone was happy.

Service was great and place relaxed and perfect for a catch up with friends.

The food here is absolutely fantastic. Menu changes each week and always stuns with delicious items. Highly recommend the One of Everything option, which is very affordable for two.
