Cuisine: Brunch, Health Food, Vegan
Price Point: Mains from £10-£20

Contrary to its name, there is no meat whatsoever at this restaurant. Welcome to vegan paradise.

Situated in London’s grungy Clapham North, the restaurant is headed by Dominic Taylor whose own vegan lifestyle drives the diverse menu. With veganism on the constant rise, it’s time to see what the fuss is all about.

The menu is imaginative, reworking old meaty classics that still deliver on flavour and the satisfaction that meat-lovers crave. The small plates include mac and cheese with ‘chorizo’ and you can get your hands dirty with a vegan lamb kebab. See if you can taste the difference!

The drinks are completely vegan too. As well as an array of wines and craft beers, there are a selection of cocktails on offer. Ever had a vegan White Russian or Rhubarb and Custard Martini? Didn’t think so.

So head to The Meet, a great place to... meet. Not meat.

I am vegetarian and thought the food was delicious! My meat-eating friends thought it was lacking... haha. Quick food delivery, were in and out in an hour.

The Meet I would highly recommend. I'm not a vegan by any means but I absolutely loved the food. Great atmosphere too and the service we received was excellent.

The setting was cool and the menu read really well. Some of the food was really good and some felt a little slap-dash but wasn't awful by any standard. I would probably go back for some of the dishes we ate and to try some of the other dishes too.

Chef Dom Taylor is a genius. The flavours that they get out of the food at The Meet are outstanding. We started off with the satay greens, mac and cheese with ‘chorizo’, a vegan whisky sour and a juice. All delicious. For the mains, the quinoa salad, coconut curry and a side of casava fries with garlic and tarragon dip (the mains were delicious but the fries and dip were a highlight). Portion sizes were more ‘comfort food’ and less ‘big plate small portion’ so by this stage we were stuffed... but our dessert stomachs were empty so we got the chocolate cheesecake and pineapple/almond upside down cake. The cheesecake was a standout - more of a mousse I would say, but with a biscuity crumble throughout that gave it an awesome crunch.

The atmosphere of the place is really nice too, in one of the railway arches with cool lighting, and you can see right into the kitchen and watch the guys working away when you’re on your way to the bathroom (don’t worry, the kitchen and bathroom are still a long way apart!).

Couldn’t fault the place, would happily return and have already recommended it to a bunch of friends (vegan and non-vegan)
