Very welcoming, Beautiful food, highly recommended for all ages, my daughter is 10, she dont eat meat, so Max was very helpful and was prepared to go out of his way for us, both me and my daughter really enjoyed the food, they will be seeing us again.

We had a really great time at i Giardini di Sorrento. It was a very authentic Italian restaurant with a good selection of pizza, pasta, meats, puddings etc. We had a full three course meal with olives, bruschetta, pasta and a chocolate strawberry puff pastry cake. Finished with an espresso and then limoncello on the house, we were absolutely stuffed to the point of immobility. We will be coming back here.

Yet again, the food was stunning!
4 of us shared mixed meats, olives and cheese, alongside a selection of wonderful mixed seafood, lightly battered, on a platter with a tasty slaw.
Then we had lobster, sea bass and two incredible plates of home made pasta and sauce. The ravioli was heavenly.
The food is delightful, the wine is gorgeous, the service is second to none.
It's not a huge place, which is another aspect we adore. It's cosy. I feel totally at home because you are treated like a family member, with love, kindness and respect and big smiles.
Thanks, Il Giardini.. We love you and the food that you serve so amazingly well.

The service in Giardinis was fab they were all so friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing and so tasty we had the antipasto platter to start and wow what a great dish, also the size on the olives I've never seen them that big before! I had the white pizza and my partner had the crab pasta both delicious. We then had an affogato for dessert, perfect finish to an already great meal!

We love this restaurant. It's friendly and comfortable and the food and wine are so very special.
We ordered Frittura Mista to start our meal; delicious crispy calamari and prawns with a tasty slaw.
We then had a sumptuous Venison Ragu served with hand made fettucine and Trofie del Borgo, delicious prawns served with home made, short pasta, very garlicky, a wonderful sauce, and both meals totally gorgeous!
We like to eat food in independent restaurants, not chain restaurants owned by CEOs and to order food that we don't usually make at home. (I am an avid cook, but i like to indulge! ) I Giardini Di Sorrento is a perfect choice for us, therefore.
We also love eating a little earlier, so First Table, where we have the whole restaurant to ourselves, is a massive treat and fits us perfectly!

Giardini di Sorrento is a bit of a hidden gem in Cardiff! Just slightly outside of town (only a ten minute walk from Queen Street station, so really not too far at all), this small, welcoming, family run restaurant will make you feel like you've transported to Italy for the evening. As we sat down we were greeted and shown samples of the home made, fresh pasta that was on the menu for the day, which was really helpful as some of the types of pasta I had never heard of. There were some gorgeous sounding specials including lobster spaghetti and lamb ravioli, and when I commented it was hard to make my mind up, they let us know that if we wanted we could have a small plate of two pasta dishes, one to start and one as a main. I jumped at the chance to taste two and went for the paccheri spezzatino (big pasta tubes with a gorgeous, rich steak and tomato sauce) and gnocchi with a san marzano tomato sauce and mixed vegetables, including aubergines and peppers. Both dishes were such generous portions and the perfect choices for a winter dinner whilst it was cold and rainy outside! The staff were so attentive and the little touches such as a complimentary limoncello at the end and the italian music playing in the background lead to a really homely, comforting atmosphere. I absolutely love using First Table as the tables are at the perfect time for me and my friends who all finish work at 5pm, it enables us to meet more regularly as the 50% off food offer is such a good deal. We will definitely be back here again and I really recommend you give Giardini a try. The coffee liqueur drinks are amazing as well and they offer traditional italian cakes which vary from day to day.

Went on a Friday evening for dinner, was quite impressed at the start as the waitress brought a plate of different types of uncooked pasta to explain the pastas in the menu.

Food was amazing, very authentic. We shared a tomato bruschetta as starters, I had the crab pasta and my boyfriend had the vegetarian gnocchi. He said it was almost as good as the one he had in Italy (and he's very particular with gnocchi).

Great value, our total bill came up to 32 quid which included one starter, two mains and a bottle of house wine.

Will definitely return and recommend!

From the home-made pastas to the mouth-watering desserts, every part of our experience at Sorrento's was exquisite. From the moment you enter you know this is an authentic spot. With apt decor and friendly service staff, it's difficult not to like this restaurant at first sight. We had the Scialatielli Fatti, Riso Vialone (Risotto with squid ink) & Pizza Contadina - portions were generous, and they did not hold back on the quality either. The pasta was fresh, as were the clams that came with it. The risotto, albeit a bit thick, blended so smoothly with the squid ink and cuttlefish. The pizza was the perfect balance of medium-crust goodness and Italian sausage & brocolli brought together with cheese.

And the dessert, oh my, the dessert. The tiramisu was soft, spongy and absolutely delectable. Easily one of my favourites. The chocolate sponge with strawberries was not too sweet, and just melted in our mouths.

We loved our experience. The staff were incredible. Very engaging and friendly and helpful. Ambiance was great too.

Amazing food and superb service! The pasta was freshly homemade melt-in-your mouth, the desserts were the size of a double decker bus, and the hospitality exuded Italian warmth. They went the extra mile to cater for a nut allergy. Will be going back again soon!

We had a marvellous dining experience at I Giardini di Sorrento! Such warm welcoming vibes and staff, making us feel special and looked after - the food was delightful. I usually find Italian restaurants to be overpriced for rather uninspiring options (And admittedly I usually claim that I can make better pasta at home lol) - I couldn't ever dream to claim that here. We both ordered from the specials board which was the best best gnocchi I've ever had. Spinach pillows of dreamy spinach dumplings in prawn and artichoke fondue.

My partner had wild boar ravioli. Such interesting flavours and freshest ingredients that give the feel of Sorrento right in miserable rainy Cardiff of a summer evening. Thanks all we shall see you soon! Ps the desserts are clearly made fresh every day - don't leave without trying them. Your diet can wait! ;)

a visit to i Giardini and the staff were just as attentive and welcoming as always.
The pizza was cooked beautifully with a light fluffy base before moving onto the pasta dishes where the sauces were delicious. We tried one of the daily specials along side items from the main menu.
Please, please, please include a mushroom pasta sauce to your menu permanently.
If you ever visit you must try the cheesecake. It’s so good that we practically took a whole one home with us.
I look forward to my next visit.

First time using 1st table, easy to use and would use again.
I Giardini Di Sorrento Italian Restaurant was nice, staff very friendly, nice to see the guys in the kitchen preparing the food. The food was lovely and so much of it. We wouldnt return though as the menu is limited ( I like pasta with chicken) and it is across the city for us. That saying my husband works local and would recommend take away pizza from there to work colleagues.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere, good attentive service. Whilst the starter (parmigiana di melanzane) was lovely and big enough to share, my lamb ragu was so salty that I could not eat it and sent it back (I was still charged for it!) my husband's pasta alle vongole was nice and the complimentary tiramisu was gorgeous. Would I go back?, yes but i wouldn't rush.
