A lovely pub with a cosy, comfortable feel and not too loud. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the food was great - I enjoyed the mango and feta salad and the peanut butter and chocolate dessert especially. Recommended!

What an absolute gem of a place! We received fantastic service from the minute we stepped in the door. We got seated at a lovely table upstairs in the chic new Gloucester Road gastro pub. We had the ribs and the jerk chicken, both of which were amazing.

Would highly recommend - we'll be going back!

So much better then we expected! I’ve seen this place is usually avaliable to book ,and even on the day sometimes. I have always woundered why it’s not as popular so i thought I’d give it a try.
I’m so happy I did this place is a real gem! I cannot rate it enough the food was outstanding so much flavour! Me and me partner both ended up having a starter, main and dessert each!! The food was to die for and we tried a bit of each other’s so we didn’t miss out on anything. I can’t believe we ended up having three courses each this is something we never normally do but it was so worth it. Whilst waiting for our food there was a vast selection of different Board games we picked Jenga and dingbats and had so much fun what a lovely touch to have this free of charge whilst waiting and having drinks. The all round experiance was fantastic and we will 100% be coming back this is no ordinary pub food and well worth a visit!!

This was my first time of trying First Table and it definitely won't be my last, likewise Gloucester Road Ale House and Kitchen. We arrived early but this wasn't a problem and we were told we could sit wherever we wanted (so we weren't given the worst table in the house, which is good). We opted to share some starters and all have a main course as well! We should have just had main courses as we struggled to eat everything. It was all delicious, fresh and served up with exactly the right amount of time in between courses and very reasonably priced. All four of us agreed that we would come back again.

Such a lovely meal! Very cute place and the food was just delicious!

We went for a pre birthday meal for my boyfriend’s birthday and had never been before so didn’t know what to expect. The staff were really welcoming, the ambience was lovely and food was fab. I had the ribs (I would highly recommend) and my boyfriend had a burger.

First time using First Table and will definitely be using it again soon!

This was our first time using First Table and the first time at the Gloucester Road Ale House.... and we weren't disappointed! Upon arrival at 6pm the restaurant and bar was already buzzing, the friendly staff were very accommodating and the atmosphere was great.
We sat upstairs were there was a delicious new Gin Bar just opened with a friendly and attentive waiter.
We weren't rushed to order at all which was refreshing. We ordered 4 starters to share between two and they were huge! Later we ordered the ribs to share and were very full - the flavours were great and it was nice to have ribs with a real kick.
Overall very pleased and we will be back! Thanks very much!

What an amazing pub meal! My boyfriend and I didn't know what quality to expect from this meal at the Gloucester Road Ale House, but any expectations we had were fully surpassed. We had drank in here before (all pints are under £3 - that's enough in itself to take a visit!) but this was the first time eating here.

The food was really, really good - much higher quality than your usual 'pub-grub', with everything home-cooked, prepared thoughtfully and full of flavour. In particular, my fishcakes were delicious, and the chicken satay and crispy squid starters were faultless! Good portion sizes also. We even asked if there was a possibility of taking the remainders home (which was probably quite an annoying request due to it being a busy Friday evening) and they happily packaged it up for us without a second thought. My boyfriend loved his Smokey Jose burger too.

There is a brilliant, friendly pub atmosphere here and the food is excellent. I highly recommend taking a visit!

Lovely evening at the Gloucester Road Ale House. A table was reserved and waiting for us and we were seem quickly for table service. Friendly staff (who were very accommodating to swap a drink for us), good atmosphere and yummy food. We had the camembert starter and a burger - both delicious..especially the chunky chips!
Will definitely be returning :)

Arrived early at the restaurant and the table was already set up and ready for us. A beautiful menu, we opted for most of the small plates/ starters. The Camembert was the best I’ve ever had! Also, ordered a bottle of wine to find out at the bill that it was on special offer which was a nice surprise. Will definitely return had a great evening :)
