Cuisine: A La Carte, Italian
Price Point: Mains from £15-£30

Standing tall for over 40 years, Sale e Pepe is a pillar in the Knightsbridge community.

A short walk from the luxurious establishments of Harrods and Harvey Nichols, this restaurant has traditional Italian cooking at its heart. Adorned with pristine white tablecloths and a wine glass for every occasion, it’s classy and the perfect place for a meal with those you love.

Warm up with some traditional antipasti, including a tomatoey parmigiana or a yellowfin tuna tartar. Take your pick of sublime pasta dishes like their veal ravioli or rich mushroom risotto. If seafood is on the agenda, there is freshest seabass and monkfish on offer and there are some delectable meat dishes to choose from too.

If you’re bamboozled by their extensive wine list, fear not. There are a multitude of reds, white and sparkling Italian wines, specially chosen to compliment the flavours on each dish. Don’t be afraid to ask the waiter; they know their stuff!

Reviews

Family run Italian restaurant which always has a fun atmosphere even arriving as early as we did. All tables taken by the time we left and waiters always appear cheerful, a little Italian singing as they go and always very helpful. Food was a high standard and choice very varied. Will return.

Sale e Pepe is an amazing Italian restaurant! I believe only Italians work there, or at least client facing staff. All are very attentive, working as a team and very enthusiastic. We had too much food, it was sooo good. Even before ordering, there were complimentary antipasti on the table. Crab salad and tomato squid were very tasty. My grilled fish mix was generous and delicious, very fresh. My partner's venison in mushroom sauce was very delightful. Despite all the food consumed we couldn't leave without trying the tiramisu - and it was supreme. Yum!

All the waiters were shouting among themselves in Italian and the place was very noisy because of them. Its a real shame as its a nice place and could be much better without them shouting across the restaurant and it's very unprofessional. They also dimmed the lights to the point you could not see anything and far too dark.
Some of the food is good and some is very bland and has no seasoning and overall average. There are better places if you want to pay their price tag.

A friendly welcome and taken straight to our table. By 6.30pm the restaurant was full and buzzy but staff still looked after us really well. A fun place with good food and wine. Would go again.
