Cuisine: British, Contemporary, Modern European
Price Point: Mains from £10-£20

A stone’s throw from Finsbury Park, this modern British restaurant is the sort of local you wish you had at the end of your street. Decorated in a smart grey palette with mismatched paintings crammed on the walls and snowy tablecloths, it strikes the perfect
balance between stylish and homely.

In April 2018 it was taken over by Valery Taillandier, the former Maitre D’, and Ben Wooles, previously Head Chef, and they have introduced a modern, rustic and eclectic approach to the menu. What hasn’t changed is their obsession with quality produce, from the juicy ribeye steak to the parsley grown on site and served scattered over bone marrow on toast.

A wine list focusing on European whites and a few New World reds is excellently priced. The most expensive bottle in the cellar will set you back £40, while many clock in at under £25. We’ll drink to that…

We love Seasons. It’s wholesome and honest food. The ambiance is warm and casual. Great wine selection that’s not overpriced either.

Food wise; excellent steaks, cut like butter and a generous portion too; interesting selection of sides, highly recommend the chips, and the grilled cabbage if it's still in season when you go. I just wish we could have fit even more in! The environment is cosy and comfortable - romantic even. Top marks for service too - Holly and Ben are friendly but relaxed, they clearly know their stuff but they're not in your face about it which I think is important too. Looking forward to going back :)

Can't believe it has taken us so long to try this restaurant, I've been missing out for years. Honestly the most spectacular meal I've had on Stroud Green Road and the competition is fierce! Every dish had been carefully crafted and was filled with dedication; these chefs really do care about what they are serving. Incredible quality and value. It was a table of 4 and we each tried different items from across the menu and was not let down by a single thing. Highlights for me were the bread, scallops with gremola, the lamb with salsa verde and the doughnuts!! Looking forward to my next visit already. (P.S. the house wine is excellent value too).

Everything was amazing! Will definitely go back. We had all vegetarian dishes and they were delicious! I’ve been dreaming about the bread it was served since them and thankfully they shared the recipe!

Walk through the door into a room both comfortable and welcoming, then prepare yourself for food created with love. The menu offerings change depending on the seasonal availability, but my dinner companion found the trout exceptional. She ordered Cornish potatoes to accompany. I tried two small dishes - a watercress spinach and rocket soup - delicious - followed by a scrummy duck salad. Then we couldn't resist desert .. I opted for a fabulous plum and blackberry crumble and my companion enjoyed a decadent chocolate pot.. All was washed down with a lovely white wine. A truly enjoyable meal in a quietly atmospheric and friendly restaurant..

The staff are lovely. The decore nice.
Their bread divine. But I had food envy!
Go the Rump steak my friend said it was great.

Don't have the duck salad.

And a large serve mussels (without chips) is a starter size or with chips you'll need another side.

Not my first time at Season Kitchen, having discovered it a few years ago, and I was pleased to see that the same quality and friendly service continue. Having booked for 6:30pm they were happy for us to arrive earlier (they open at 5:30pm) as we were going to the Park Theatre at 7:15pm. The food was simple and well cooked, especially the fish, although the portions overall were a little on the small side and we were glad we had ordered a selection of side dishes. The house red, a Temperanillo, was very tasty and under £20. The home-made bread was nice but I was a little surprised to be charged for the bottles of “on-site filtered still & sparkling water” (if you are going to charge for what appears to be complimentary water then you should make this clear on the menu). I would definitely recommend Season Kitchen and First Table makes it very good value.
