Crane Court has a newbie in town; introducing India India.

Situated in the heart of Holborn, with Fleet Street and Chancery Lane a stone’s throw away, India India is your answer to a soulful lunch or dinner in central London. It’s an informal, spacious spot with warming red walls and big, cushioned chairs to relax into.

One thing the food menu is not lacking is choice; packed full of old favourites, sharing platters, vegetarian feasts and a variety of sides, there is something for all tastes and (most importantly), spice tolerances. If your Chicken Tikka days are behind you, tuck into a King Prawn Badshahbag or Nawabi Lamb Shank.

The restaurant also offers an express lunch. Although shorter, the menu still boasts variety and of course, flavour. Classics like Madras and Sag Chicken and Lamb are a welcome midday meal and if you’re after something lighter, the Vegetable Biryani never disappoints.

For a group of three we ordered papadum, 3 starters and 3 mains. This was plenty/too much for us all. I think the standout of the 3 main dishes (a very hard call) was Duck Towa-ashili. It was our first time of eating an Indian duck curry & a very high precedent has been set.
We would thoroughly recommend India India.

Lovely restaurant tucked away in a small alley on Fleet Street. Very neatly decorated.

We ordered lamp chops and paneer for starters, and they were great! For main we had bengal fish curry and king prawn malabar, with freshly made naan and lovely rice.

Yummy food and friendly service. Would recommend.

We have arrived on Saturday evening and there were total of two tables the whole evening. Whilst the wine was nice and food was very interesting full of authentic flavours, the service was truly disappointing. It must be mentioned that all young waiters were very polite and attentive, however the manager upon finding out that we have First Table booking made us feel as we are not valuable costomers which was being felt during our dining. He said that we can get 1 for 2 starters and mains and did not bother to explain menu at all. As pretty much all starters were with meat, we asked if we could order vegetarian sides instead to which he definitely refused. Strange as it would work out to be the same price if not more expensive yet profitable. Eventually we ended up paying full price of all the sides and received one main for free. First and last experience based on the attitude towards customers with with this promo...

Food was very nice; just the right amount of spice. Excellent naan bread, too. Service was pretty good, as well. Excellent value. Restaurant is in a basement and the decor is nothing special, but would definitely recommend on the strength of the food.
