You wouldn’t think to combine Scottish and Mediterranean cuisines, but Ishka proves that it’s a match made in heaven.

The interior is exceptionally modern yet still has a distinctive personality. It sticks to the muted colours of grey, black and brown, save for a vibrant yellow booth that adds some zing to proceedings. Alternatively, park up on of their velvet bar stools where cocktails are never far away...

The menu celebrates the finest cuts of meat as well as seasonal produce. Their venison dish is rich and earthy with parmesan cream polenta and chestnut puree. Their duck breast is wonderfully hearty whilst their vegetarian options like the vegetable tartlet and spicy lentils will keep you full for days.

Anyway, back to the cocktails. Their signature mixes (of which there are many) include creamy numbers like their Alexander the Great and more refreshing tipples like the Bittersweet Melody. If cocktails aren’t for you, loosen up with a bottle of vino or a chilled beer.
